From a single classroom to 96+ countries

From a single English speaking school in 1971 to a globally trusted language institution — BSL’s story is one of continuous evolution and international reach.

1971
BSL opens as a specialist English school. The founding curriculum — English Speaking across all four skills, plus the 12-week Personality Development programme — is established and has been refreshed every year since.
1985
Foreign language expansion: 12 languages added progressively under the CEFR A1–C2 framework. French, German, and Spanish were added first; Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese and others followed.
2003
BSL Corporate Training launched for MNCs, BPOs, schools, and corporates. BSL quickly became the go-to organisational language training partner across multiple sectors.
2005
Dedicated IELTS, PTE, and OET coaching added. BSL's Study Abroad division — offering Canada PR and Australian immigration consulting — opens for business.
2009
ESL, TESOL, and TEFL certifications introduced. BSL launches QR-based digital certificate verification — a first for the language education sector.
2011
Online learning model introduced ahead of the industry. BSL adopts blended delivery to ensure access for learners across all geographies and time zones.
2016–17
Kids Academy created with Abacus (2016) and Coding (2016) classes, then expanded in 2017 to include academic support in English, Science, and Mathematics.
2019
Full technology platform launched: Android and iOS apps, proprietary cloud virtual classroom, and a comprehensive LMS portal. Three free demo classes introduced.
2021
International trainer network scaled globally. Certified educators from dozens of countries now teach all programmes around the clock.
2024
